Summer love

You never lose what you can't find
Like the wading thoughts at the back of your mind
there's nothing on TV to help you stay
The sun is in your face and its raining inside
And you think of whiling summer love away..

Whiling summer love away..
Dressing up, dressing down--
Driving nights in hopeless town
Sleeping through another day;
Just whiling summer love away..

Lingering by the daytime stream
Waking up early from each sweet dream
Its a dying year in the heart of may
And its whiling all your summer love away..

Pleasing lilies in the window sill
They kissed your eyes when it was yesterday--
Now the days are long and the nights are gone
They know the words but not your song..

The city has lost all its seasons,
You're whiling summer love and you're losing all reason.
And what happens when you find all the answers you sought?
Will it be worth all the freebies you bought?

So I'll turn down the lamp you turn out the light
I'll paint the sky you shade it just right.
Fence wallpaper on the walls of our day;
And we'll dream by that daytime stream, whiling summer love away
Whiling all our love away
Whiling summer love away..
